Learn how to transform your garden into a beautiful oasis while saving time, money and water! Orange County Coastkeeper’s SmartScape Program will assist you in creating a beautiful low water use garden with native and drought tolerant plants. Workshop will cover how to prepare, plant and maintain your own SmartScape as well as economic and environmental benefits. Topics will include: amending your soil, installing plants, irrigation, fertilizing, mulching, and much more! Workshop taught by Marianne Hugo, Coastkeeper Garden Director and Master Gardener specializing in low water use gardens.
Workshop includes a tour of the Coastkeeper Garden’s “SmartScape” so be sure to wear comfortable shoes, hat and sunscreen.
Come join Coastal Playground and Orange County Coastkeeper at our monthly beach cleanup event! We will be located at Huntington State Beach Tower #2. Please enter through the Magnolia Street entrance.
Parking is FREE, just mention you are there for the BEACH CLEANUP and do your best to arrive before 9:30 to ensure you will not be charged. And, please don't forget your closed toe shoes, hats, glasses, sunscreen, and lots of water. Please RSVP and we hope to see you there!!
Plant lovers and gardeners are invited to participate in the monthly Garden Share. Attendees bring garden related items to trade such as plants, cuttings, pots, tools, produce etc. The Garden Share is a great way to obtain new plants and meet like minded plant people. Arrive at 9:30 for set up and "Sharing" begins at 10:00 sharp!
